Winchester Freemasons with a friendly welcome
Old Symondian Lodge No. 5734 — Freemasonry in Winchester rooted in Peter Symonds College, open to Old Symondians and men who want fellowship with purpose.
Transforming into a lodge for today
We keep the ceremony and the craft — and we work hard at the welcome. New faces matter. Younger members matter. A warm handshake and a proper conversation matter more than formality for its own sake.
Old Symondian Lodge is changing how it shows up: clearer about who we are, easier to approach, and proud to be a place where men of different ages enjoy the same evening together.

More camaraderie than mystery
Evenings are about fellowship, ceremony with meaning, a meal together and looking after each other — the same sort of spirit many remember from school: turning up, mucking in, and having a laugh.
A way of life
Kindness at home, honesty in business, courtesy in society, fairness at work — and care for one another. That is the craft we try to live, not only wear on meeting nights.

Old Symondian Lodge was consecrated on 28 May 1938, taking its name from the Old Symondians — former pupils of Peter Symonds College in Winchester. We’ve been Winchester Freemasons ever since.
